Mogadishu, the city the world writes off, spent a day feeding Blackman Da Traveller tea, chapati and pastry — and gave him the line that defines his whole channel.
The tour runs down Km4 street — four kilometres of shops, gyms and restaurants he calls one of the longest streets in Africa — past $10-a-month SIM cards, $1.50 pastries made in front of him, and a four-floor gym with six hundred members run by a Georgian-American who moved back 25 years ago to help rebuild.

The checkpoint soldiers still check his filming permits, and the security detail is real. But the video's verdict — 'Somalia is a very beautiful country… the Somali people are very hospitable' — lands harder precisely because the title promised the opposite. The DON'T GO formula in one line: borrow the warning, deliver the welcome.
